In this illustration, an octopus drifts gently through the sky in a hot air balloon, carrying the ocean with him wherever he goes. Inside the balloon lives a miniature aquarium—an entire underwater world floating above the clouds. My inspiration was to bring the sea, usually bound to the depths, into the air. The sea freed and lifted, blurring the line between sky and ocean.
